Accidents happen, and we may never fully understand why. Some people face tough times even when they’ve done good deeds. But we are all here on this planet for a purpose, so let’s make the most of it!

Rita's life was like a book filled with unexpected twists and turns, yet she always managed to find her way back to hope and gratitude.

When Rita was only four years old, a playful day turned into a nightmare. She had been running around on the rooftop of her home, her tiny feet moving faster than they should. In the blink of an eye, she slipped and fell all the way to the ground floor. She was bathed in blood and taken to the hospital. The fall left her with a big scar on her forehead, one she would carry for the rest of her life. As she grew up, every time she looked in the mirror, she would trace the scar with her fingers and wonder, "Why me?"

Years passed, but that question never left her mind. Even as an adult, it lingered in her thoughts. Then, at 34, life threw her another curveball. Rita went snow tubing with friends, excited for an adventurous day out. But things took a sudden turn when she crashed. Another head injury left her bathed in blood and airlifted to the trauma center. As she lay in the hospital bed, bruised with multiple fractures on her forehead and face but alive, she didn’t ask, "Why me?" this time. Instead, she whispered softly, "Thank You, God, for keeping me safe." She had seen others suffer worse fates, like Michael Schumacher, who had a similar accident and slipped into a coma. Rita realized how lucky she was to walk away with just a few injuries.

That accident changed something in Rita. She started spending more time in prayer and reflection. She became more grateful for the little things, like the laughter of her family or the warmth of the sun on her face. She made it a point to cherish every moment and show love to those around her.

Twelve years later, at 46, Rita faced yet another trial. This time it was a car accident, a terrible one that left the vehicle completely wrecked. But miraculously, everyone involved walked away safe. As she stood by the side of the road, looking at the mangled car, her heart swelled with gratitude. "Thank You, God," she said again. "Thank You, God, for protecting us."

Three major accidents in a lifetime might have left anyone feeling defeated or cursed. But not Rita. Instead of dwelling on the pain or fear, she chose to focus on what she could control: her present and her future. "I may never understand why these things happened, maybe because of past life karma," she thought, "but I do know one thing: I’m still here for a reason."

From that day forward, Rita made a promise to herself and to God. She would live her life with purpose and positivity. She would do good deeds, spread kindness, and cherish every moment of this precious life she had been given. Her past may have been marked by scars and accidents, but her future would be shaped by love and gratitude.

Rita’s story is a reminder that life isn’t always “easy” or “fair.” But even in the face of hardship, we have the power to choose how we respond. And sometimes, choosing gratitude can turn even the darkest moments into something beautiful.
